Time flies and its hard to believe its already December! We’re excited for our very first Christmas season and all the hustle and bustle surrounding it. Although we’ve been enjoying some of the festivities around Vancouver, we’ve also been busy creating some cool stuff. We love this trend for fall and winter 2012 and hope it sticks around. These shiny pieces are perfect for the holiday season for those extra special soirees when we all welcome a little extra sheen. Here’s a few ideas on how to wear metallics:

A little black dress is pretty much always a hit no matter the occasion. What really makes it special is how the dress is accessorized. Take your LBD look to a whole new level by adding the perfect necklace as the finishing touch. Want to go all out? Add a metallic statement necklace. Want to keep it casual? Have fun with beads. Little Black Dress Looks

Timeless and elegant, the little black dress is a staple item that every woman should have in her closet. As made famous by Coco Chanel, the lbd can easily be dressed up or down in a jiffy. Its amazing how one simple dress can be transformed into different chic and stylish looks for, multiple occasions. We love the small details found on this dress in the dainty lace embellishment around the entire bottom hem. This flirty little feature completes the dress giving it a lady like touch.

We took this boat neck short sleeved little black dress and paired it with a funky tribal inspired statement necklace, a brightly hued belt in mint green for a pop of colour, and a wrist full of chunky khaki coloured bangles. The gold and bronze tones found in the jewelry looks great with solid black, highlighting one of our favourite colour combinations for fall and winter! Styling Ideas

For a more casual look, wear the dress with leggings in any colour or try trendy patterned ones. Add an over sized sweater that ties at the waist, toss on a lace scarf, and add knee high boots. Go Tribal for Fall!

We love the tribal look for Fall and the multitude of exotic patterns and prints it comes in. Incorporating this fun trend through jewelry is a great way to experiment with the look.  A hit for any occasion from a casual outing to a big night out, the funky tribal look is the perfect way to add a trendy touch to your look.

In Nepal and Tibet, women are often seen wearing oversized, and sometimes, bulky pieces of jewelry. Natural rustic marks of hand craftsmanship can be seen when looking very closely at the jewelry. This is a sign the jewelry is made by hand, and not by a machine. Jewelry plays an important role in the culture in this part of the world. Jewelry is a part of dress in every day life and its a symbol of spirituality. Wearing it is believed to be a way to draw close to the gods. Its also believed that wearing jewelry brings protection from evil spirits.

Metallic for a Touch of Glamour

We can’t get enough of the metallic look right now! In shades of gold, silver, copper and bronze, metallics create richness and elegance when added to more timeless look like a little black dress or to glam up a t-shirt and jeans. Metallics were seen all over the runway on clothing, jewelry, accessories, and even in nail colour and make-up. The key to this look is not to over do it. Choose one or two items and no more. After all, you still want to keep the attention on yourself.  But be prepared to stand out if you choose to incorporate metallics! In this post, we highlight a few of our favourite metallic items with our Braided Leather Belt in Metallic, Metallic Patterned Cuff, and Embellished Tunic Top.
