Tuesday Inspiration

How many of us can relate to today’s inspirational quote? Trying something new can be a big challenge, but it can also be a rewarding one if the results get you to where you want to be. Similarly, taking the plunge into the unknown and moving out of our comfort zone can be more than a little stressful at first. Starting a new job or career, starting a business, living in a foreign country, or even fighting for something important are all examples of stepping out of one’s comfort zone. Questioning yourself over and over again and wondering if you’re making the best decision is often the hardest part of all.

But if you really stop and think about it, what’s the very worst that can happen when trying something you’ve never done? At worst, you’ll realize that whatever you’re doing isn’t working and you simply try something else. Sometimes it is better than going back to what you’ve done before. At best, you’ll have discovered a hidden talent, passion, or place that just seems to fit and makes sense to you. Either way, when you look back to the time you tried something new, you’ll have no regrets. At least you had the courage to try and change your current situation.

A Snapshot of 2012

At Indiverve Retail Company, we’re looking forward to 2013 and all the challenges it will bring. There’s so many goals we hope to accomplish within our small team. We’re getting ready to launch our new, updated website which will have a fresh and interesting look and feel to it. We also hope to get to know more bloggers who are involved not only in fashion but also food, charities, music, and travel in Vancouver as well as everywhere around the world!

We hope everyone has a happy and prosperous year filled with exciting new experiences and never ending growth. We hope to achieve all of our resolutions- both personal and professional- no matter how big or small. Here’s to 2013, a new and exciting year for all. We think it’ll be filled with nothing but awesomeness!

Our E-Store Has Launched!

We’re very excited to announce the launch of our e-store! We’ve worked very hard over the past year and completed almost all of the set-up using our own skills, with very little outside help. We’ve learned so much during the start-up process and have gained invaluable insights along the way. After many sleepless nights and many ups and downs, highs and lows, we’re so relieved to have our store up and running!

We have many more ideas and goals for the future with our company, Indiverve Retail Company Inc! We’d like to thank those who have stood by and supported us along the way. Your encouragement was very much appreciated during the tough, and sometimes frustrating, times. For us, its the beginning of a new chapter!

Brazilian model and actress, Adriana Lima, best known for her work with Victoria’s Secret and Maybelline cosmetics, pretty much sums it up for today’s fashion quote. Confidence, attitude and inner strength are all very important in looking and feeling your best. Not only that but we need to remember that as humans, we have so much more strength than we give ourselves credit for. As Adriana states, believe in yourself  and your abilities and the sky is the limit! Everyone around you will be attracted to your positive energy and outer glow if you take on the world with a smile on your face and a good attitude. Show that you have what it takes to accomplish whatever it is you want in life.  After all, confidence is the best fashion statement.

A Quote We Love

Today we needed a little extra inspiration. Life can be busy and somewhat overwhelming. Sometimes even when you feel you’ve double and triple checked to make sure everything is perfect in hope that nothing will go wrong, it somehow always does. Little mistakes, and sometimes bigger ones, are naturally made. For a split second you feel panic and remorse. But in line with this quote, its how you handle the situation that counts. Its how you deal with it, fix the situation as best you can, and move forward with all the strength you possess.

We felt this quote was fitting for not only every day activities and occurrences but also thinking about the big picture in life. Nothing and nobody is perfect. There will always be obstacles, whether big or small, that we’re all bound to face. It really is how we handle each circumstance and try to think optimistically and positively. We simply need to make the best of each situation we find ourselves in, learn from it, and move on.

Our quote of the day comes from renowned German fashion designer, Karl Lagerfeld. Although he’s sometimes involved in controversy, usually over a statement he’s made, no doubt he’s an icon in the international fashion industry. All controversies aside, we love this quote from him:

We agree the little black dress is a must have in any women’s closet. Versatile and sophisticated looking however its styled, the little black dress is a staple which works for all seasons and fits in all circumstances. Dress it up for a night out by adding some bold jewelry like a fun cocktail ring or an intricate cuff. Alternately, you can toss a cute cardigan or blazer over top for the office. This summer, the little black dress will work really nicely with the ultra popular neon trend.

A Fashion Quote from Coco Chanel

Coco Chanel, famous French designer, was one of the most important influences of  fashion design. Known for her modern and practical designs, she is credited for the concept of the little black dress during the 1920’s. Her early collections were full of beading and embroidery. She also popularized the wearing of costume  jewelry and stated “It’s disgusting to walk around with millions around the neck because one happens to be rich. I only like fake jewelry…because it’s provocative.”
